The niaouli tree belongs to the Australian tee trees. The essential oil of niaouli tree leaves resembles essential cajeput oil. As with most tea tree oils, the Aborigines also turned to niaouli to help fight colds, respiratory conditions and rheumatism. After the reactor accident at the nuclear power plant in Chernobyl, Ukrainians turned to the oil and used it in blends to help protect themselves against radiation. Niaouli belongs to the oils with the strongest antiviral, antibacterial and anti-infectious properties. It calms your nerves, stimulates your airways and helps to relieve them if they are swollen.
