The sweet and tangy scent of cocoa brings a pleasant feeling of security. It will calm you when you feel tense and nervous. Native to South America, the small, evergreen cocoa tree produces berries, which are about 20 cm in length and may weigh up to 500 g each. Each berry contains about 50 seeds, the so-called cocoa beans. Farmers open the berries using machetes, collect the beans and dry them. The dried beans are CO2-distilled into a solid cocoa-butter, which is then fluidized with alcohol in order to receive the rich oil.
