Lavender Lemonade with Fresh Lavender
This aromatic lavender lemonade not only offers a refreshing burst of flavor but also brings a little piece of Provence right into your glass.
RECIPE1 tbsp dried organic lavender flowers (for the syrup)
250 ml water (for the syrup)
100 g sugar
500 ml cold water
250 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice (4–5 lemons)
Fresh lavender sprigs (for decoration)
ice cubes
First, start by making the lavender syrup. To do this, bring 250 ml of water and the sugar to a boil in a saucepan. Once the sugar has dissolved, add the dried lavender flowers. Remove the pot from the heat and let the syrup steep for about 20 minutes so that the full aroma can develop. After steeping, strain the syrup through a fine sieve or cheesecloth so that no flower remnants remain.
To make the lemonade, mix the lavender syrup with freshly squeezed lemon juice in a pitcher. Add 500 ml of cold water. Depending on your preference, you can top off the mixture with sparkling water to give the lemonade a refreshing fizz. To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour in the lavender lemonade. For that special touch, garnish each glass with a fresh sprig of lavender and a slice of lemon.
